Our Summer Terrace is Now Open

We are delighted to announce that our summer Terrace is now live.

One of the few positives to come out of the Covid era is the reclaiming of the streets for diners and drinkers via swapping out parking spaces for external seating for pubs and restaurants. The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea has been especially pro-active in maintaining this new amenity for residents and businesses. So a big thank you to the Town Hall and long may it continue!

The terrace is reserved for dining only and is available on a first-come, first-served basis for people who have booked a table in the Dining Room or Bar. This is for practical reasons, we need to ensure we have sufficient space inside to re-seat people in the event that the Great British weather conspires against us at short notice. So just book a table indoors, turn up, and we will do our best to seat you outside if that is your desire.

Regular readers of the Stoopsian Dialectics will be thrilled to know that there is a a Fried Onion Cheeseburger aspect to this announcement. That's right, the Bar Menu and the Dining Room menu are both available on the Terrace. It is a kind of DMZ for the Great Cheeseburger Debate.

For the uninitiated, you cannot order the Bar Menu (which offers that Cheeseburger) in the Dining Room, something which has provoked mostly good-natured controversy among our regulars.

Meanwhile, chef Jake will not forgive me if I don't highlight a few of the peak-Spring dishes on the A La Carte:

Steamed Shetland Mussels, Preserved Lemon, Chilli

Asparagus, Gribiche

Courgette, Tema Artichoke, Rice, Spenwood

Steamed Trout, Piattoni Beans, Dulse
